Present

Thank you for this lovely year! In 2008 we're looking for some exciting time, but more about these in the new year. Until then, we'd like to express our thank in our own way: you can download a 6-track live EP from the media section for free. It was recorded last year in Budapest's Kultiplex venue and this September in open air Zöld Pardon by Zsolt Némedi, thanks.
Merry Xmas! And if you happen to be in Budapest we wait for you in Kultiplex to celebrate the new year's coming.

Introducing

New single

Finally, the new material is here.... first single "Introspective" is out now in the Baltics and Hungary. Due to distribution delays, in Germany we have no release date yet, but send us a message if you need a copy and we'll sort out. The CD version contains the radio edit of "Introspective" and the cover of "Such a shame". Ffor technical reasons, the download single is pushed back a few weeks, but it'll be accompanied by an exclusive track, a live version of "I was the first". The video for the single will be online in a matter of days.
The album, with the same name, follows late January/early February 2008. But, as kind of thank you for your patience, we will give you some special Christmas present - for details check back around middle of December.

New

We proudly announce that, after parting ways with Kalinkaland, we signed an agreement with Lithuania-based M.P.3 agency label. The record will be distributed in Germany, Hungary and possibly Japan.
By joint efforts, M.P.3 and Amber Smith plan to publish an album intended for the global market next year and arrange more concerts in the Baltic states. "The principle of our company is to always represent artistical and professional music, Amber Smith are a case in point", said the Head of company M.P.3 Vaidas Stackevičius.
M.P.3 and we met at the festival of the Baltic song that took place in Sweden this summer. First thoughts as to cooperation evolved on a joint trip by boat to the Baltic Sea. "Their music had appeal to us, and they found our style of working also agreeable", explained Vaidas Stackevičius. "Since the contract of the band with one German company was coming to the end, they hinted at possible cooperation, and we enthusiastically supported the idea."
Music management company M.P.3 has been operating in this sphere for the sixth year. In the course of its existence the company sold 100,000 published albums.
The Lithuanian company is to take care of the career of the Hungarian performers, the cooperation between the parties will involve both the sphere of publishing and the concert activities. Amber Smith intends to pay its first visit to Lithuania already this year and give a few performances.
Further info about the new record soon...

South

Dear German fans, we were neglectful updating this site for a while, sorry - but we were more active in our native country at the summer festivals. In the meantime we are almost finished with our new album - sounds very exciting and different from "rePRINT"... hopefully you can hear some snippets and a single before the end of the year and the album follows early 2008. Until then if you feel like travelling or live in the south, check us out in Dresden on the 27th October - we are returning to the scenes of past glories... more German dates to be expected in 2008!!!

27/02/2007
Back to Bavaria

Hello all, our schedule changed a bit regarding Germany so we won't have a tour in the spring - as we concentrate on recording our follow-up to "reprint", hopefully out late this year.
But we're invited to München to a special Hungarian showcase for the 24th March to Substanz Club, where we'll play with fellow Budapesters Panic Radio and the Djs of the popular Budapest indie night club, Tesco Disco. See you there.

08/11/2006
We are back from our short German/French tour. It was great fun, thanks for everyone who supported us and especially for Basti and everyone in Witten - it was unbelievable! We already plan to return sometime around March, but first we have to start to work on new songs. Hopefully see you soon in even more cities! For some visual memories of the current tour, click here.

Back in the B.R.D.
Sorry for letting you wait with a fresh update - but we were busy in our native land, Hungary, after the release of "rePRINT". So many commitments that we even had to cancel 2 gigs in May. But due to demand and for some good radio plays, we get on road again in Germany (and for one show in France) in October! See the dates in the gigs section. Also we plan to issue new series of T-shirts, these will be available at the gigs in October.
So see you in the autumn!

26/03/2006
Universal
This week "rePRINT" reached the nr1 spot on the official German college Radio Charts! Yeah!
New amber smith T-shirts are arriving, in 2 colours, for men and women. Costs 12 euros.
It seems that due to Hungarian commitments, the rePRINT tour is postponed 'til autumn. However, occasional shows in München and France will take place in May. The dates are coming very very soon...

Reprint is here!
After 3 years and several mixes, studios, tours, we proudly present our new album "Reprint". It's out on the 24th February in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by Kalinkaland Records. From this day check out the record stores. It was recorded in 2004 and 2005 and mixed, post-produced by 'Cocteau Twin' Robin Guthrie as well as Yonderboi who produced the title song.
As for Hungary, we are settling a deal in the following days.
Promotion is already started so watch out for interviews and reviews all over the internet, plus magazines in Germany like Zillo, Orkus and so on in the spring. The video for "Hello Sun" getting its first broadcast on Hungarian tv's Kultúrház on the 7th February at 19.15. From mid-February check out music channels, you might easily bump into the video, directed by long-term friend and once amber smith drummer Tibor Simon.
A tour is under organisation for late spring all over Germany and Austria. Check back for details every now and then.

Ready, steady...
Thanks to everyone who turned up at Trafó's indie Xmas. It was brilliant show for us.
We shot our first video "proper" for Hello Sun. You'll find some pictures onlocation here.
We wish you a happy 2006!!!

12/12/2005
Let me put you in the picture...
There are some new promo photos in the picture section, shot by Tamás Lékó.
The new album is almost here, it's only 2 months left... accompanying the record, we'll probably go on tour in February in Germany, more infos when it's confirmed.
If you spend the first days of 2006 in Budapest, check out Imre's and Bence's new side-project "Raina" in Trafó on 7th January. It's an instrumental experimental side-kick in the vein of Mogwai, Explosions in the sky etc. More infos soon at www.myspace.com/rainaband.

Concert - indeed
A late "sorry" for everyone who turned up at Trafó and realised we're not playing - we had to cancel it in the last minute due to Bence's illness. But he is fine now so the Sopron gig this Friday WILL happen as well as the re-scheduled Death Disco gig with Alan McGee on the 5th November in Trafó Bár.
Yonderboi's second album, entitled "Splendid Isolation" is out on 24th October, features the co-written first single "Were you thinking of me?" with Imre on vocals and Oszkár on bass. Oszkár also plays bass on further tracks.

28/09/2005
A lotta news: Exhausted, CD single and more gigs.
We're home again, a bit tired, had some trouble (yeah we LOVE the French police!) but at least tanned and with full of great memories of great gigs. Thanks for everyone ho came to the shows, helped us, the list is too long to mention everyone, but thanks to Zsolt to driving us back safely and Dénes, (bassist of EZ Basic) for his help at the gigs and carrying passed-out band members. (Check out some pictures here.)
There's a new promotional album sampler out now, preceding our new album, coming out in January. It features 3 album tracks as well as an extra song, "Pete and Julie". You can't find it in the shops, so, if you work for a radio, magazine etc please contact either us or our label.
Supporting the new release, we play 2 gigs in Hungary, one of them is at Trafó Bár Tangó, on the 8th October. It's the second event of Alan McGee's Death Disco, so if you were there at the first time you know it's going to be huge. Then we play Sopron on the 21st October in Hangár as Heaven Street Seven's guests.

Pécs + Sziget + tour
Thanks for the great audience in Pécs at ICWIP. It was definitely one of our best shows ever. We love Pécs, and possibly will return in the autumn... pictures of last week's show here.
If you visit the annual Sziget Festival, check us out live on the 16th August, 20h on the Bahia Stage, right after the Hives gig on the Main Stage. Then in September we grab orselves to a van and go on road to support the CD-single/album sampler release of a new version Hello Sun. It comes with 2 other album tracks and a previously unreleased song. More info later...the shows are in Spain, France and Germany, check out the dates and we expect you if you live around!

New deal
We proudly announce a new deal we signed before our Dresden show: we signed to Weimar label Kalinkaland Records. The mainly Robin Guthrie-mixed record will be called "Reprint" and it`s out in October.
Talking about Robin Guthrie, he`s coming to our city for a solo show on the 1st July. Support comes from... us! To match the event we plan a special, one-ff show with live strings etc, so don`t stay at home.
The below mentioned "Instant" compilation CD is out now, featuring "Hello Sun". Check out the shops!

11/05/2005
Hello Sun, yet again
Thanks again for everyone who came to the Pesti Est gig last Friday. We`ve no fix date for another Budapest gig yet, but will have two shows at the end of May, in Munster (with our friends` band Dorian, at last!) and Dresden. If you live nearby, come around...
Hungarian radio station Radio Cafe releases a compilation CD called "Instant" sometime this month, with "Hello Sun" on it. It features the edited, "7 version of the song. And talking about "Hello sun" there`s a nice photo and small article in this month`s Wan2 magazine about the vinyl. If you live her ein Hungary, check out the next issue (in the shops form 25th May) for a bigger article on amber smith.

Amber Twins
Hi everyone, it’s a late apology but finally an official one: we’re sorry for cancelling the September German dates. I won’t be bullshitting about tetchnical difficulties: our druver cancelled two days prior the trip, then the other guy we recruited cancelled it 15 hours prior leaving Budapest so there was no way to go.
In the meantime we still and keep work on our forthcoming record. There’s no fix date for teh release yet int he forthcoming future. But the material is in good hands: we are proud to tell you, 4 song’s been mixed by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and they sound fantastic. More post-production takes place during the winter.
However, we have time again to play live, so, in case you’re visiting Budapest come to Gödör Klub on 6th November or to Süss fel Nap ont he 19th. I’m sure it’ll be great fun. Also we’re playing in Berlin’s Zosch on 12th November with local heroes Helter Skelter as a PoshPop event. Join us and togeher we’ll rule the galaxy!

Finally!!! The best shots from our summer mediterranean tour here!

18/08/2004
New song + Photos
Hello, we haven't updated the site for a time, even though there were some events at amber smith: we finished the mediterranean tour, we felt great, especially in Spain - where we plan to return for an extended tour later. Also thanks for everyone who cam to our shows at Szelidi-Tó and at the annual Sziget festival! It was great!
In the meantime we constantly work on our new album, its really exciting and promising... this is the nr. 1 priority in amber smith camp these days.
Until further news, download two songs from our May show at Pesti Est Café, 'Iceland' (hungarian version) and a new song from the forthcoming album, called 'Reprint'. Both were recorded by Zsolt V. Némedi, thanks for him! Also we have new photos in the pictures section from the Szelidi-Tó show and new promo shots from Tokyo and by Juli Szente, plus pictures from the Sziget Festival here. Sadly the pictures fo the summer tour are still to come, but we promise as soon as we have them we'll post them here...
Have a nice summer as long as you can have it...

Islands, Peninsulas, Lakes etc
Hello, just before we leave for our South-European tour we can gladly confirm two festival dates in Hungary for the summer. One of them is at the Szelidi Lake in July with the Austrian Garish and our Frankfurter friends Lada, the other one is the usual annual Sziget Festival…exact dates and stages in the gigs section.
Buy amber smith buttons! This is our news merchandise, you can get for 1 euro+post (available in Germany, mail to office@ambersmith.de)

Advertisment
Thanks for everybody who turned up last Thursday at our show in Pesti Est Café. We fel really really great and it was one of our longest set (18 songs or what?!).  You can find pictures of the show here
We really loved the reception of the new songs so for the summer we get back to our dark rooms to mix and mess with the new recordings. Apart from the forthcoming LP, we plan to record a new EP of 4-5 songs, which we plan to release some other time and format.
So apart from the June Europe tour, we don't really plan to play in Hungary until the autumn, except 1 or 2 summer festivals. Details of these coming soon.
Oh and a funny addition: the Spanish advertisement company Analgicó picked our song "Teddybear" to use it in a TV commercial, shown in Portuguese TV. So if you're hanging around in Portugal in the summer, turn on the TV you might hear some familiar tunes...

04/05/2004
Summertime
The agenda of our June mediterranean tour is final now, you can check the dates under the gigs section. We’ll return to Germany for another tour in September, more about this later .
The next Budapest gig is on 20th May, Thursday in Pest Est Café again. Support comes from the band „Eric van de Poele”, who plays similar genre (indie/guitar) music. You  didn’t really have the chance to hear them so far. Also, they plan to move to London this summer so it’s a unique opportunity to hear them live.
Similarly, it’s the last amber smith gig with Tomi Faragó as he will re-locate himself to the UK as his other band, The Puzzle will move to London later this month. Good luck for them! Int he future, we carry on as a 3-piece (this is the way we currently work on our next album anyway), helped out by session players at live gigs.
So be there on the 20th May!

08/04/2004
Amber smith's Tokyo debut turned to be a fantastic event. The set featured old & new songs as well as a cover and Imre was helped out by three fantastic local musicians - thanks to Yuki, Kenmi and Hitoshi for their efforts! It's impossible to give back the feeling of Tokyo, however, here are some picures (more to come as well as a short video of live performance). The band plans to return in 2005.
Until then, we move to studio to start the follow-up to last year's "My little servant". According to plans, guest musicians and a lot of post-production will take place, so the final result surely won't be available until autumn/winter.
As far as live performances concerned: we play in Budapest on the 20th May in Pesti Est Café, and will have a European tour in June (including Croatia, Italy, Spain, France and Germany). Fix dates and cities to be announced soon.
Have a nice spring and watch out the site for more news!

We left the west, we travel East
So we’re back again from the latest short tour of France / Germany. Thank you for all who supported / helped us, we felt brilliant.
Our next gig in Budapest takes place next Thursday, 11th March in Trafó. Guestt appearence comes from The Puzzle. We1ve a new set, a new band (even better, of course). We go to studio mid-April so it’s our only gig in Hungary for  a while, don’t miss it...
Some pictures of the tour soon, until then: a short article from Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung int he articles section.

20/01/2004
Due to technical problems we had to cancel the acoustic gig on Thursday, 22nd January. We'll try to re-schedule the concert after conciliation with the theatre.
In the February issue of Wan2 magazine (available from Monday 26th January)  you can read a small article about amber smith.

07/01/2004
Happy new year…
Thanks for everybody who attended any of our two December shows; pictures from the Pesti Est show here
Finally, here’s the previously announced video for „I was the first”, in the media section (to see this and the live video for „Rusty Willoughby”, you’ll need codec 5)
January 22nd Kolibri Pinceszínház (basement theatre) hosts amber smith and Norbi from Band called Russel for an exclusive acoustic gig of the season. All who was there last January, knows what to expect. Guests, special cover versions and the amber smith set includes new and unrecorded songs only for this evening.  Everybody’s welcome.

02/12/2003
We’d like to announce two shows for Budapest in December. First of all, we play in Pesti Est Café on the 12th December, our guest will be the  band called Lada form Frankfurt, Germany. They’re three, sound British their music/live shows is really good and the singer/frontman Christian is the reminiscent of Gyuri from Hungarian britpoppers „The Puzzle”. Then 4 days later, on 16th December we perform on the A38 ship as a guest for Galapagos. There’ll be new songs at both sows; we demo-ed two of them (Hello sun+Lindsay’s song) recently. More 2004 shows in the gigs section (Germany + France + Japan!!!).
Next Tuesday, 9th December you can see us (along with Puzzle and Supersonic) on Viva TV brainstorming about the current state of britpop in Hungary.
A new media link in the main menu where you can download some of our songs and really soon our very first video for  the song „I was the first”. Check it out!!!

New pictures here!

Let's make it fuckin' sleazy!
A huge thanks goes out to all who came to our show last Thursday - the response was obviously positive and we think it was a great show, too. Also thank to Gergő of annabarbi for featuring in "Where those days are gone for you"
It turned the day before the gig Pete'sleaving in the middle of November so it was his last show with amber smith. he returns to USA and won't be back before June 2004. We wish all the best for him and wait for him to be back!
Our next gig takes place on 12th December in Pesti Est Café, with our very special guest Lada from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It still needs to be confirmed but we'll let you know all the details in time.
Pictures from the Slovenian/Croatian tour in the pictures section really soon and you can download "Rusty Willoughby" from here, live in Rijeka on 17th October in .avi format.
We're featured on another compilation; this time "Teddybear" made it onto the Bremen DJ team, High Fidelity's (www.hifi-club.com) latest release called "Verliebt in London". Thanks for them and you can find all the infos about the record here

13/10/2003
Next song
Hello, we're back from Germany again - it was fun and pleasure (special thanks to Zsolt for the brilliant van!), check out the pictures here. The next tour (including France and maybe Switzerland, too) is under negotiations, Starsbourg and Munich is fixed, but we'll announce the full list when all the gigs are confirmed.
We're off to Slovenia and Croatia for some shows, but in the meantime, don't forget: our first show in Budapest in 4 months takes place in Rocktogon on 23rd October. Support comes form our old friend Norbi and his band: band called russel. Be there!
Here is a new article.

16/09/2003
We are proud to announce our first autumn Budapest show. It takes place in Rocktogon on the 23rd October. Support comes from the once amber smith - member Norbi with his new band called "Band Called Russel". No confusion, right? They're young and bright, unlike us, but we've some new songs to test before we go to studio in the winter to record them. Gig start at 20.30 exactly, we look forward to your company.
If you want to check out our webmater's abilities, visit his site here.

21/08/2003
2.2
Hi, please welcome Tomi Farago (The Puzzle) again, who, after returning from the UK, plays guitar. Also, we waved goodbye to Simca and nicked Nate Johnson (Stig Roar Husby) for the drums. By the way, million thanks to our leaving drummer; it was a pleasure (not just) for us, and the best luck in the animation business! Let us witness him becoming the new Gabor Csupo!
The rehearsals have begun with the new line-up, but as both guys already played in the band previously, we’re progressing damn well. We’ve some new songs in the basket, too (titles inculde „Arithmetics” and „The Social Worker”), but it’s unlikely to record any new material before the winter. And, as we already mentioned before, we’re touring Germany from September, then Slovenia in mid-October with Stig Roar Husby, so the next Hungarian gig won’t happen before the end of October or early November.
News from our record label: the international record store chain, Tower Records legally forced FST to leave „Tower” out of their name, so from 16th August the label’s called Firestation Records. Thankfully, nothing else has changed.
Othwerwise we announce, we all love Amber Smith and she is not a porn star, but a fashion model. And bugger, she’s Hungarian descendant indeed!

02/07/2003

Here are 3 short videos from last week, our Paris adventures: 01 | 02 | 03
And you can listen to the acoustic version of Iceland here, played live on 28th March in erfurt's Radio Frei.

We've done it...the first French trip was rather cool, both the Munich and Paris show were great. You can check some new pictures from the tour in the photos section.
We'd love to return in the autumn, maybe for a 3-4 city short tour in France (the autumn German tour set-up is nearly 100%, you can check all the dates soon). Anyway, thank you for David, Anita, Simon, Andi and Gulschan for all the help.
Talking about the present: we're playing this Wednesday, 18th June at Orczy Kert. We play new songs and we'll have some suprise guests, too...support comes from upcoming britpoppers The Puzzle, the band about to release their first major LP in August. The concerts start at 8.30 pm, be sharp, curfew at 11 pm!

dB exposure
Pete Pawinski finally set up a webpage containing his best live shots on hungarian underground bands including Stig Roar Husby, The Puzzle, and many more. Totally woth checking out! ernő

30/05/2003
Juli Szente joined us last Saturday to Ziar nad Hronom and shot some rather nice pictures, you can check them here. We planned to check out the local Tesco but as we were late we didn't so we missed some explosion in the supermarket.
We can't wait our first ever Paris show (flyer). We're leaving next Saturday, we'll stop in Munich for a gig and then heading to France.
We said we won't play in Hungary until our Sziget festival slot -  well, we changed our minds and we'll thorw an indie mini-festival in the Orczy kert on 18th June with The Puzzle. The gig is starting at 20h and ends by 23h, so make sure you'll arrive in time! Entrance is free, if the weather agrees it'll be a great party. Salut.

30/04/2003
45 minutes, Bayer, etc.
Million thanks to everybody who visited the 4x45 festival and to annabarbi & Stig Roar Husby for the invitation. I think it was a brilliant turn-out and we might continue on the Sziget festival this year. (Click here for photos!)
We're about to finish the negotiations with Paris label Musicast about distribution in France, which means album promotion and maybe some more gigs in france later this year.
Regarding France...on our way to Paris, we'll play Munich on the 7th June as a kind of addition to the German promo-tour in April (thanks to Anita for the help!)

Le concert
So, we got home from Germany this Monday. In a brief: it was bloody amazing, we had so much fun and i think/hope the audience had much fun, too. The gigs were more or less successful in the different cities, but i think it's a good sign that we're invited to go back. Which means, another tour in the autumn is expected. Thanks to all the people who helped us along the tour, Mario, Daniel Torsten, Wolfgang, Eike, Marco, Uwe and all at FST... sorry if i forgot about someone.
We shot millions of pictures, you can find the best of them in the pictures section, and we get our act together, we'll write some tour diary, too.
We brought great news from Berlin. In the first two week, we sold a few hunderd copies of 'My little servant' in Japan through a distributor.
Thanks to the Prague gig, we're invited to play at the Garden of eden festival in Slovakia on 24th May. And, on the 10th June amber smith makes its Paris debut when we play in La Scéne with great French indie bands Exsonvaldes and Kimlico.
During the tour we gave two interviews, one to Radio Frei in Erfurt (where we played an acoustic version of 'Iceland', too) and Radio X in Frankfurt am Main. We try to get these recordings and post it somehow on the site. There's also an interview on the Britpop Arsenal site, along with a review of the album, and one on the Japanese site www.apple-crumble.com. It's a bit too late, but you can read a recommendation in Czech at www.freemusic.cz/clanek.php?id=1986
Thanks to the so many invitations abroad, it seems amber smith's activity in Hungary will decrease a bit, so if you live in Budapest, come and check us out with Stig Roar Husby on 25th April at Pesti Est Café!!!

Finally, the new album "My little servant" is out now on Firestation Tower Records. We'll kick off the tour this Friday, 27th March. For the detailed tour schedule, check the gigs section.
If you live in the Frankfurt area, tune in to Radio X at FM 101.4, because some time after the Frankfurt gig, Imre from amber smith will talk about the new amber smith LP and about the songs / music changed his world.
Also, keep watch Britpop Arsenal site, there'll be also an interview with the amber smith singer about the Berlin concert and other things.

You can catch amber smith on MTV1 (the Hungarian state TV) next Thursday, 27th february at around 11 pm. We'll perform two songs (live) and we'll tell you some clever things. Juli Szente, the non-official photographer of the Budapest indie scene turned up at the shooting, so you can expect some photos of us messing around in the rehearsal room, soon.
We added some more dates, you can find them under the gigs section. We'll plan more gigs in Western Europe, and we'd love to present some cool French/German bands here, more details to be announced.
Finally, the release date for "My little servant" is 10th March, so (if the post service agrees) it'll be available at the next show in Süss fel nap.

For several reasons The Puzzle, our guest for the 5th February Süss Fel Nap show cancelled their slot. Instead of them, Shape will support us.
A Yugoslavian compilation CD, entitled "A view of our dreams" is out now, featuring the 2000 track "Above the clouds" by amber smith.
Following the 5th February gig, we proudly present the Vienna-based band The O5 on the 12th March in Süss fel nap, again. They're our labelmates (Firestation just released their german debut "Pretty nonsense" and they toured the UK with modfather Paul Weller. Wow! After the show the Gumipop Djs (Dj Vibrator, Hysterika and Magnes) will provide the party feeling.
A short, but pretty old article on alter.hu here and some new promo shots by Juli Szente in the photos section.

Hope everyone had relaxed time during the holidays. January is ususally quiet, nothing really happens, no concerts so we thought it's time for a quiet acoustic gig. Thus, an unusual amber smith gig takes place next Saturday, 18th January from 20.30 until 23.00 at the Kolibri Pinceszínház (Budapest, VI. Andrássy út 77). Never played amber smith songs, some suprise-covers in the set, and some even more... Guest/support: Russel.
I received a mail from FST, our German label saying we're featured on a Yugoslavian (!) compilation CD with the 2000 track "above the clouds". I don't know the title yet, but as soon as I receive the CD,I'll let you know...
During Christmas we finished all the post-production for our first German LP called "My little servant", and one of the new songs, 'I was the first' became one of our all-time favourite amber smith songs, so we thought , if anyone interested, it's here for download before the album comes out.

18/12/2002
The new songs are recorded, the mixing and the master are still to come. The songs will be featured on our first Firestation Tower Records album, due out early next year. The next gig will be in Süss fel nap on the 5th February with The Puzzle. Until then: loads of new pictures, lyrics for the new songs (I was the first / Birthday girl / The sea). Thanks for everybody for this year's support and help and see you in January. Happy holidays!

Program-change! The amber smith interview + live performance on Fix.TV, originally scheduled for a Wednesday broadcast will be broadcasted on this Friday, 13th december between 19 and 21 pm.

21/11/2002
On 11th December, amber smith returns to Fix.TV! It's a new programme called Fix.Music and it's hosted by our friend and fan, Karel. It's worth to watch, apart from the interview and live performances there'll be some quiz where you canwin exclusive amber smith goodies.

15/11/2002
The second and the last amber smith gig in Budapest this year takes place at Pesti Est Café on 5th December. Support comes from Vadeper. After the gigs there'll be some party, details soon... everybody's invited, a splendid time is guaraneed for all, new line-up, new songs, etc.
The previous night , 4th December we'll play Pécs at IH with Stig Roar Husby. Be there, if you can!

05/11/2002
I think we made it! The comeback/re-start gig was succesful, massive thanks for everyone who helped, turned up, bought CDs, etc. A very, very big thank you goes to Nate Johnson who helped us so far with the recording and the gigs. Kiss Attila (formerly of Kispál és a Borz, recently PG Csoport) follows him on drums, he'll debut on the Pécs show on 4th December. There's a December show in Budapest in the pipeline, but nothing's sure yet. We have a new guitarist too, Norbi, who replaces Tomi (he moved to the UK last Saturday for a year. Thank you for helping us and good luck). So it's November, time for some rest, rehearsals, writing new songs, etc...
German tour pictures here!

22/10/2002
We got back from Germany safe & sound. The gigs were great, especially the Berlin one, a lot of people, success, the audience was cool, even when we fucked up Suzanne. And it's always pleasure to see some friendly faces... soon we'll be back in the studio to record some new songs - they must be delivered to Firestation Tower Records, the album comes out when there's 10 or 11 new song...and then we'll tour again in Germany.
But until then: everybody's welcome in Budapest, at Marco Polo Club on Saturday, 26th October. Don't be late since Stig Roar Husby starts around 20.15 and amber smith at 21.00.
By the way, there's an awful lot of photos of the journey, check out the photos section soon. Maybe you can spot yourself..

11/10/2002
So, after more than a year here's the new amber smith mini-album called "Olcsó" (Cheap). It is available for anyone from 14th October, please send the orders to: ambersmith@nme.com.
The CD comes in a special format, a unique package which contains very little information, for the credits click here.

25/09/2002
Finally, we can reveal the October live dates in Germany Unfortunately, Stig Roar Husby can't join us, so my heart's bleeding but maybe next time... The Hamburg club cancelled the gig on the 20th so we didn't have time to book another date, so the gigs are:
18th October - Leipzig, Ilses Erika (www.ilseserika.de)
19th October - Berlin, Privatclub (info: www.berlin030.de)
It seems Firestation Tower Records is willing to release an amber smith album sometimes in the winter... YEAH! I can't tell any details, but as soon as I can, it'll be updated here, too.
However, I can reveal the date of the first, Budapest "comeback" gig: 26th October, Budapest, Marco Polo Club. With very special guest: Stig Roar Husby. Be there.

03/07/2002
Few months ago the HMV-Shops in Japan asked our German label, Firestation to do a compilation CD for them exclusive. Label is Quince Records Japan. Great news that amber smith appears on the CD, too, with "There is no way". The compilation is a split CD with another german indiepoplabel called Apricot Records. Each label appears with ten tracks on the compilation. The compilation will only be available at the HMV-Shops in whole of Japan. Apart from that the cd will be available via both labelwebsides and some german mailorders.
Now it seems pretty sure that amber smith enters the studio at the end of July to record some new songs. We've done the first rehearsal last Friday (28/06) with Nate Johnson (Fabulon) on drums and OC (Idorablok) on bass/vocals. I just can't say enough times how I appreciate their support and help for starting amber smith again. Hopefully Peter Pawinsky will join next time on keyboards. I'm excited, watch out for more soon. The songs likely to be recorded:
belfast / teddymacko / and that was all / egri jános / izland (új verzio) / wake up

23/07/2001
In the august issue of the monthly music magazine „Wanted” (25th July is the official publishing date) you can read a profile article about the band.
